The Opening Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Remains Committed.

In numerous discussions, commentators persist in tolling the knell for the Xbox brand. Xbox was recently outsold by a platform few have heard of. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content on PS5 topics unprecedentedly. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. However, judging purely by the titles headed to the service in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft continues to plan to draw people in with compelling titles on its key platform.

The Current Inclusions

The two games currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's deserving of attention.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

Come mid-January, Game Pass will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, hailed in past assessments as "a superb mixture of horror and action."

Compelling Indie Titles

Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that's a blast to play, drops on Jan. 7th — and you should try it whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

All in all, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, nor are they massive exclusive blockbusters that justify the service in the first place. Yet, this selection are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they warranted upon launch — rendering them excellent choices to experience a revival on Game Pass.

You might need to brace yourself to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
